Spotted Wood Owl is an owl that belongs to the earless owl genus. This is because it has no visible ear tufts.
These owls can be found around Borneo, but not on the Borneo Island itself.
These owls are often found in solitary or in pairs. It builds nests in the hollows of tall trees. Occasionally, the nest can be found on ferns that grow on trees.
Its breeding season is from January to August. It will lay 1 – 3 eggs in one season.
The main diet of this owl is mice and rats. Occasionally, it also eats insects and small birds.
These owls can produce loud and vibrating sounds that are rather eerie.
