Stump Tailed Macaques live in groups of 20 - 50, led by a dominant male. This male macaque asserts its dominance by barring its elongated canines.

Stump Tailed Macaques are native to Indo-China region such as China, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand.

They are usually found on the ground as they are not very agile in trees, and move on all four limbs.

Like other macaques, Stump Tailed Macaques have cheek pouches to store food temporary while it forages for foods. Its favourite foods are fruits, frogs and crabs.

Unlike other macaques, this macaque cannot swim.

The gestation period of the Stump Tailed Macaques is 177 days and only bear an offspring once every 2 years.
