Facts About Wild Pig
DNA studies indicate that the wild pig originated from islands in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia and the Philippines, and subsequently spread onto mainland Eurasia and North Africa.
The wild pig generally thinner and has a coarser fur than the domestic pig. It has a pair of long, continually growing canines, called tusks. The colour of its fur may be dark grey, brown or black.
Its size varies according to its geographic distribution. Wild Pig are larger in the colder regions, but much smaller the closer they are to tropics.
The Wild pig reaches maturity by 1 year of age. It breeds all year round. After gestation period of 115 days, it gives birth to 1 - 7 piglets.
Wild Pig has a lifespan around 25 years old.
